James Thwaite
Hailing from North-East England, I was born and bred on Teesside.
I grew up idolising Middlesbrough FC (a.k.a. "The Boro"), during the golden era; managed by Bryan Robson and boasting such global talents as Juninho Paulista, Ravanelli and Emerson.
I attended the University of Manchester from 2009-2013, gaining a BSc in Geology, and later an MSc in Petroleum Geoscience.
I grew up playing in defence for my local side, Billingham Town FC; a club known for producing a young Gary Pallister. Despite loving getting forward, I was never quite able to make the transition into Left Midfield, and have always dubbed myself a "Left Wing-Back", this was likely down to a hatred of struggle with fitness, and an addiction to love of pizza.
During my time in Manchester, I became Club Captain for the University of Manchester Men's Football Club (UMMFC), and subsequently experienced coaching from Gary Neville, Ryan Giggs & Nicky Butt, as they pursued their UEFA coaching licenses.
Since leaving Manchester, I have wrapped up an FA Level 1 Coaching Badge, and have also played football at non-league level.
