The Lone Striker is a blog dedicated to the beautiful game.
It was co-founded in May 2014 by James Thwaite and Rob Stratford, whom met whilst attending The University of Manchester. Since then, a love of the global phenomenon that is Football; the tactics, the players, the culture and the fans, has been a lynch-pin in their friendship.
In this blog, you will find an eclectic collection of articles, ranging from in-depth analysis of key fixtures and players, to footballing history, book reviews, as well as travel and culture from around Europe and the rest of the world.
We will publish articles sporadically, as and when inspiration hits us, or when our working lives allow us enough time to put pen to paper (and then type it up).
